PROFESSOR DR. MOHD SAID NURUMAL

Professor Dr. Mohd Said Nurumal is a distinguished academic and healthcare leader, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Critical Care Nursing at the Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia. He holds the position of Deputy Dean of Academic and Internationalisation and actively contributes to the advancement of nursing education and policy. He is the Secretary for the Malaysia Nursing Council of Public Universities, Chairman of the Malaysian Nurses Association (MNA) IIUM Chapter, and the Malaysian representative for the Southeast Asian Nursing Education and Research Network (SEANERN). Professor Said earned his PhD in Nursing from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, a Master of Science in Medical Education from Universiti Sains Malaysia, a Bachelor of Nursing Studies from Dublin City University, Ireland, and a Diploma in Nursing from Universiti Malaya. Before transitioning into academia, he gained hands-on clinical experience as an Emergency Registrar Nurse at UMMC. With expertise in nursing emergency care, nursing education, and healthcare policy, his research primarily focuses on mixed methods approaches to improving patient outcomes and nursing practices. A former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at IIUM, he has made significant contributions to nursing scholarship, with numerous publications and international collaborations. He is also an active visiting professor at several universities, strengthening global academic networks in nursing and healthcare.
