DATIN SERI DR. NOMEE ASHIKIN DATO’ MOHAMMED RADZI

Dr. Nomee Ashikin Mohammed Radzi is an esteemed medical professional with a distinguished career in paediatric cardiology. Currently serving as the Group Medical Director and Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Cardiologist at Selgate Rawang Specialist Hospital, Dr. Nomee is recognized for her expertise and contributions to both clinical practice and medical education. Dr. Nomee began her academic journey at Morrison’s Academy in Scotland, UK, before progressing to medical school at the University of St Andrews, where she was a class medallist in Anatomy I and II, Biochemistry, and Physiology. She completed her medical education at the University of Manchester, graduating with honours. Throughout her education, Dr. Nomee demonstrated excellence, earning the title of finalist for the Pat Byrne Prize for Excellence in General Practice. Dr. Nomee’s medical career spans various roles in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology across the UK and Malaysia. Her clinical journey began with her housemanship at Stepping Hill Hospital in Manchester and continued with senior house officer and specialist registrar positions in general paediatrics, neonates, and paediatric cardiology. Notably, Dr. Nomee worked at the prestigious Institut Jantung Negara (National Heart Institute) in Kuala Lumpur, where she focused on paediatric cardiology for over four years. Throughout her career, Dr. Nomee has been involved in clinical research and has contributed to publications related to paediatric cardiology. Her work includes studies on patent ductus arteriosus and radiofrequency valvotomy in pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum. Publications and Abstracts: Dr. Nomee has authored and presented several notable papers and abstracts at international conferences. Her key contributions include studies on the medium-term outcomes of pulmonary atresia patients and the preservation of left ventricle synchrony in pediatric pacing. Her research has garnered recognition, including the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 3rd Asia-Pacific Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Surgery. An advocate for continuous learning, Dr. Nomee has contributed as a speaker and faculty member in various paediatric cardiology courses and scientific meetings, including those organized by the Malaysian Paediatric Cardiology Society and the Asia Pacific Paediatric Cardiology Society. Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Nomee is dedicated to community service. She chairs the Perak Food Bank, an NGO focused on sustainability and addressing the climate change crisis. Her leadership has helped the organization provide essential aid during the COVID-19 pandemic and raise funds for numerous charitable causes. Dr. Nomee is also involved with organizations promoting healthy lifestyles, including Nadi Sihat and the A Special Needs School in Ipoh.
