DR. AZIM HAZIZUDDIN NASARUDDIN
Dr. Azim Hazizuddin Nasaruddin is a medical doctor whose career spans Malaysia’s public, non-profit, and private healthcare sectors, giving him a connected perspective on how care is delivered, sustained, and improved across the system. He began in the government healthcare service, where he experienced firsthand the pressures of frontline medicine, resource limitations, and the realities of delivering care at scale. He later joined the National Kidney Foundation Malaysia, serving as Head of Medical and working closely on chronic disease management, accessibility, and sustainability, shaping his understanding of community-driven care and the balance between cost and quality. He currently serves as Head of Medical Affairs and Quality at Gleneagles Hospital Johor, focusing on clinical governance, quality improvement, and value-driven healthcare delivery, with an emphasis on aligning operational performance with patient outcomes. These experiences are reflected in his self-published book, “Continue As Planned: A Malaysian Doctor’s 5-Year Chronicle,” which offers a grounded account of navigating different healthcare settings and the lessons learned along the way. He will be graduating this year with an MBA in Healthcare Management from Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, reinforcing his commitment to bridging clinical practice with leadership, strategy, and system transformation. Through his journey across sectors, he brings a practical and evolving perspective on healthcare, not just in understanding its challenges, but in exploring how it can be improved in a more meaningful and sustainable way.
