DR CHE AZURAHANIM CHE ABDULLAH
Dr. Che Azurahanim Che Abdullah (Dr CACA) is an Associate Professor in Biophysics, Materials Science, and Nanobiotechnology with over 15 years of international academic and research experience. She has a strong record of delivering impactful scientific innovation and excellence in higher education, research leadership, and international collaboration. She melds her deep expertise in nanomaterial synthesis with green technology and biomedical applications to pioneer sustainable solutions for healthcare, agriculture, and environmental remediation. Throughout her career, she has led and contributed to numerous multidisciplinary research projects across Malaysia, the UK, Japan, Taiwan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, and Indonesia, securing competitive grants and fostering global partnerships. Her work spans advanced nanomaterials for drug delivery, cancer therapy, tissue engineering, radiation physics, and sustainable agriculture, consistently translating laboratory innovation into real-world applications. An accomplished educator, she has designed and taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Radiation Physics, Nanoscience, Medical Physics, and Research Methodology, inspiring the next generation of scientists. She has supervised numerous PhD and Master's students to completion and actively mentors early-career researchers. Beyond the lab and classroom, Dr CACA is a passionate advocate for science communication and community engagement. She spearheads outreach initiatives like “Nano is Fun” for schools, promotes STEM education through international youth exchange programs (such as the Sakura Science Program with Japan), and leads community projects supporting children with special needs and rural education. Her underpinning philosophy is that science should be sustainable, accessible, and transformative. She believes in harnessing nature-inspired solutions to address global challenges—from clean water and food security to advanced healthcare. In her personal life, she is a devoted mentor, an avid learner of languages and cultures, and holds certifications in cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro-linguistic programming, and psychonumerology, reflecting her holistic approach to personal and professional development. Dr. Che Azurahanim holds a PhD in Biophysics from the University of Surrey, UK, and a Bachelor’s in Medical Physics from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She is a life member of several prestigious societies including the European Society for Nanomedicine, the Institute of Physics, and the Malaysian Medical Physics Society. She is also a certified NLP practitioner and cognitive behavioral therapy coach, integrating well-being science into her leadership and teaching practice.
