Dr Muhammed Anis is a medical doctor with a Bachelor’s degree from the International Medical University Malaysia. He received an international scholarship to undergo clinical attachment in organ donation and transplantation with the DonateLife organisation in Australia, working at various hospitals in the states of Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. He also received an international Chevening Award to do his Master’s in Health Policy, Planning & Financing from both the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. He was a Deputy Director at the Planning Division and headed the National Health Financing Section of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, where he worked directly in the Malaysia Health System Research collaboration with the Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health, as well as drafting the Health White Paper, which was endorsed by both Houses of the Malaysian Parliament. Currently, he has been seconded to ProtectHealth Corporation, a not-for-profit strategic purchaser owned by Ministry of Health Malaysia, and heads both the Quality Assurance and the Health Financing Departments.
